Like Animal Antics, Choosing Chums was also commissioned by Dudley Music Service, and the first performances were given in 2004 by massed choirs by the castle in Dudley Zoo! This six song cantata is designed for Key Stage 2, about the move from primary to secondary school, and how important it is to make friendships and keep them.

The songs are sung by Chrissie Rhodes who went on to form a duo called The Shires!
